Young Adult Backpacking Trip
After seeing the success the ELCA Young Adults had with the Abide Small Groups, RTLC wanted to create a ministry for Young Adults.
Spend a week hiking through the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains with other young adults from all over the country. With gear, food, rafting, permits, and a guest young adult speaker to lead the spiritual side of the trip all provided, come join us for a relaxing adventure by a mountain lake. Spend your days fishing, exploring, taking in the scenery or peaking a nearby mountain, your itinerary is up to you and what you need!
After 4 days on trail return to camp for showers, campfires and a day of whitewater rafting the local Arkansas River!
YOUNG ADULT SPEAKER- Kylie Pedersen
Kylie is a second grade teacher in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was a former counselor and Compass Points guide at Rainbow Trail, and loves to spend as much time outside as possible. She is currently spending her time outside trying to run a 10k (her friends are making her!), learning how to fly fish, and hiking with her dog Shoelace. She cant wait t0 get back to the Sangre’s and spend a week in God’s unfiltered wilderness getting to know you all!
WEEK AT A GLANCE
Sunday: 3pm – Check in, Orientation, Dinner, Gear Check-out, Worship
Monday: Early Breakfast, Finishing Packing, Leave camp for Trailhead, Hike into mountain lake and set up basecamp, Dinner
Tuesday: Rest day at the lake or a day-hike
Wednesday: Rest day at the lake, local exploring or peaking a nearby mountain!
Thursday: Pack up basecamp and hike back to trailhead, Return to camp, Gear cleaning, Showers, Dinner, Worship
Friday: Late Brunch, Pick up by Rafting Company, Whitewater Rafting, Back to Camp, BBQ, Worship
Saturday: Breakfast, Depart for home!

Young Adult #1 – July 27th – August 2nd
2025 FEE
Tier 1: Full Cost ($575)
The Full Cost is a little more than our break-even, helping subsidize participants who can’t cover the full cost. If you have enough and want to walk with our ministry in this way, we will be able to bring more Young Adults into the program.
Tier 2: Cover my Cost ($440)
Tier 2 is a break even cost for Rainbow Trail, it covers the expense of your trip. If you can make it work, this helps RTLC keep Young Adult Trips sustainable.
Tier 3: Campership Included ($365)
Get me to Rainbow Trail! This Tier is for Young Adults who want to be involved but may have cost as a barrier. This could mean you have a lot of travel costs, don’t get PTO, are a student, young parent, etc.

AIRPORT SHUTTLE
We are asking a suggested donation of $20 for the airport shuttle. If you would like to ride with us to Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp, please fly into/out of the following airports at the following times.
